after viewing beyonce's video for the song... i saw that she defined it herself as
1 a sucessful and glamorous female performer or personality [a fashion diva]
2 especially : a female singer who has achieved popularity [pop diva]

i'd just like to say i'm upset.
by her own definition... how is that a hustler?

and i've got a bunch of hip hop albums i missed out on, so i decided to look for new r&b stuff.


and i came upon this woman with a GREAT voice. Adele, based outta London. she's got a classic soul sounding voice, and it has got me stuck on this album, 19. She calls her music Heartbroken Soul...how dope is that?!
i'm prolly mad late on this joint, cuz apparently she's had a single out for a minute, but i never pursued it. Chasing Pavements anybody?

Food for thought (no pun intended)

Hydroxycut, slim fast, nutrasystem, jenny craig, Crevax, Weight watchers, ando many others... I have been watching a lot of tv lately and i've noticed that I see sooooooooooo many weight loss product commercials. Dont get me wrong, I know that obesity is fatal and a big problem in our society. Along with these commercials we have these TV shows like "diettrribe", "celebrity fit club", and others. But being EXTRA EXTRA skinny is unhealthy and fatal too. Even with that being said... I dont see any "Get your weight up" commercials, or any TV shows getting extra skinny people to GAIN wieght. I mean there are all these stigma's about how hard it is for "big girls" to make it in the "industry" but they do! And when that happens, all you hear is criticism! Nicole Richie has been a twig every since she meet Paris Hilton, and yeah they spectators comment on it, but young girls still aspire to be like her... which to me, jus shows how rediculous our society is. IDK tho, its jus a lil aggrivating to me. Like why do ppl aspire to be skinny? Why not jus aspire to be healthy? I know Id rather be healthy than stick thin! But what do you think?

diva is a female version of a hustla?

Hmm...

When I first heard this song i frowned in confusion. I always thought a hustler was someone that like... did what they had to do to make money and worked real hard for it.. and i also thought a diva was someone who thought highly of themselves, was dramatic, and liked things handed to them... according to beyonce im wrong.
me and some friends were discussing this 'definition of a diva' and we decided that maybe a prostitute [along with other types of females] would be more of a definition of a hustler... like a prostitute does what she gotta do [..just happens that its with her body] to make money.. u kno? i'm sure there's a better definition but that was of the top of the dome...
but then my other friend brought up that.. beyonce could be trying to re-define the word diva.. since shes been called diva so much in the past.. i mean it's true i wouldnt want to be known as someone dramtic, liked things handed to her, and thinks highly of herself... or self proclaim it atleast..
so i wanna know what you think..
is beyonce redefining Diva... or does she legit think diva and hustler are synonyms??
